Increasing Pulse Energy Recovery of Radial Turbocharger Turbines by 3D Inverse Design Method

Written by Prof. Mehrdad Zangeneh (ADT / University College of London) & Jiangnan Zhang (ADT/ UCL)

What's inside?

This paper on radial turbines was first presented at the 2015 Turbo Expo. It presents a methodology to control and move the radial turbine peak efficiency U/Cis to lower values using 3D Inverse Design.  In this paper, a large number of experimental and numerical work have been done to investigate and determine turbine unsteady performance and how turbines work during a pulsatile flow.
