**A novel approach for designing diffuser pumps is presented** based on a three-dimensional inverse design method and the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technique.

Both impeller and diffuser blade shapes were computed for specified circulation or blade loading distributions, which can be optimized for a specific design requirement.
