This paper presents the results of the development of a cryogenic pump, consisting of inducer, impeller and diffuser, for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) transfer and pressurization. The newly designed pump was tested by using water test tunnel and showed good suction performance.
Inducer design is very important to achieve high suction performance. In this study an inducer was newly designed using a three-dimensional inverse design method, whereby the three-dimensional blade geometry was numerically obtained for specified loading distribution of blade.
