TURBOdesign Suite 2020

A Paradigm Shift in Turbomachinery Design

Thursday 25th June

In this webinar, we will show how the new TURBOdesign Suite 2020, a new platform for the design and optimization of turbomachinery, represents a paradigm shift in turbomachinery design and enables engineers to produce breakthrough, high efficiency designs faster than ever before.

Over the past 21 years, TURBOdesign Suite and its unique 3D Inverse Design-based approach to turbomachinery design has helped many leading companies develop more efficient designs and contributed to significant reductions in CO2 emissions. The pressure to develop more efficient turbomachines is even more important now. Key is the ability to improve efficiency, not just at one operating point but over the most important life cycle operating areas. 3D inverse Design-based optimization makes these types of difficult multi-point, multi-objective, multi-disciplinary design problems easy to undertake under industrial time scales.

Three years ago, we set out to develop a completely new integrated system for turbomachinery design that combines meanline design with 3D Inverse Design, automatic optimization and close integration with CAE systems that major turbomachinery industries use. The aim of this project was to develop an intuitive, easy to use graphical user interface (GUI) which brings out the true power of an Inverse Design system. A system that helps designers quickly obtain useful design know-how and apply this between projects, interact seamlessly with their existing CAE workflows and create final designs that are exported ready for any manufacturing process from casting and machining to additive manufacturing.

In this webinar we will show the integration of TURBOdesign1 into this new platform and highlight some of the important new functionalities that makes the process intuitive and easy to use, as well as how we intend to carry on developing this platform into the most advanced turbomachinery design system available globally.
